The HIP Cabel allows basic direct connection to 4606, 4612, 4624, 4620, 4620SW, 4630, 4630SW sets. Incompatible headset adapter cords may have been recommended for use with the 4610SW and 4620SW IP Telephones. Audio may be poor when using a HIP headset adapter cord with all 4610SW Terminals or with 4620SW IP Telephones that were manufactured from November 2004 to present. Recommendations
For the 4610SW IP Telephone (700274673), the HIC cord (408122950) is recommended.
For 4620SW IP Telephones manufactured prior to November 2004, the HIP cord (700212442) is recommended.
For 4620SW IP Telephones manufactured from November 2004 to present, the HIC cord is recommended.Identification
You can identify the version of the 4620SW telephones by the number of openings in the microphone housing (front right corner of the telephone). The 4620sw telephones manufactured from November 2004 forward have one microphone opening and need the HIC cable . Those manufactured prior to November 2004 have two and need the HIP cable. *4620SW phones manufactured after 11/04 require the HIC cable for direct connection. Those manufactured prior to 11/04 require the HIP cable.
